Thanks to an article written on Ehow.com, now I know how to select an ergonomic mousepad. I don't know if the mouse is considered ergonomic or the mousepad. An ergonomic mousepad is a pad that allows you to not suffer from various injuries, that can affect mostly your fingers. In order to find the perfect mousepad for you, you have to test it; in other words you cannot select your ergonomic mousepad from the Internet. You have to feel that your hand rests naturally on that pad.
When you place your hand on the pad, this one must fall naturally at a certain angle. Or, if you do not want to have problems with your fingers and hand, you must get a laptop, that has as input device not a mouse, but a touchpad. If you use a laptop, you you can rest your hand on the resting pad, the surface that allows you to place your right hand, in most cases, at the rise of the touchpad. There are few people that write and type with their left hand; nevertheless, the laptop manufacturers and the mice manufacturers must consider them as well, when creating mice and laptops. The mousepad has to be created with soft materials, even though I cannot say that the resting pad of my lap top is made of silk or something. The palm should rest on the pad. You have to be sure of another thing, the fact that your wrist is positioned correctly when it comes to the mousepad. The depth of the mousepad should be of 1.5 inches, so that it will be able to sustain the weight of your hand. I know that the hand is not weighing so much, but there are some mousepads that allow your hand and your mouse to actually immerse in them. Those mousepads are no good.
