Korean technology major LG has invented a new way to reduce the number of peripherals connected to the computer, and freed up considerable area on your desktop. During the upcoming exhibition in Berlin IFA, the electronics company will show an innovative device – a computer mouse that can work like a full-scanner and recognize the printed text. Using this mouse-scanner, LSM-100 is quite easy – while holding down the
button of Smart Scan on the left side of the device bring it to the
image or the printed text that you want to digitize.
The data can be stored in formats PNG, JPEG, TIFF, BMP, PDF, XLS or DOC. In the latter case, the scanned text is converted into Microsoft Word document with built-in optical character recognition software – it eliminates the need to type the text manually.
The new mouse can scan not only small fragments of text, but the format of any material upto A3, eliminating many of the restrictions on A4 size personal scanners. The very process of digitizing the image is quick, according to LG’s press release.
